Associated Eye Care introduced Well Vision clinics in February 2015 as a way to accommodate patients whose primary desire is to maintain their vision wellness. Well Vision clinics provide the convenience and access patients seek when looking for comprehensive eye care options for themselves and their families. Well Vision exams are performed by many of the same great doctors who run our regular clinics, but in a setting meant for busy working people. By separating comprehensive care away from complicated care, we can save many of our patients valuable time. Well Vision clinics provide comprehensive eye exam in less than 60 minutes.
We understand the importance of healthy vision as do you. Many of our patients choose to return to Associated Eye Care each year for a comprehensive eye exam in order to maintain their vision wellness and get updated prescriptions for glasses and/or contact lenses. Our providers will still discuss other vision care options that pertain to you during the exam, such as LASIK eye surgery or treatments/therapies for common issues such as dry eye. If you need an updated glasses or contact lens prescription, we are happy to provide that to you also. Our optical shops are open during Well Vision clinics and a new online store called AEC Online Marketplace will be open in January 2016.
Well Vision clinics are time sensitive and our goal is to complete your exam in less than 60 minutes. Patients who are interested in glasses may need a little more time to select glasses and frames afterwards. Our most commonly requested Well Vision appointment times are afternoon and early evenings.
Well Vision Clinics are designed for patients between 12 – 60 years of age. Existing patients over 60 may be eligible for this type of clinic also. Some patients who have cataract surgery only need vision wellness exams after the procedure. We recommend discussing this with your Associated Eye Care provider during your next visit. Patients who are under 12 years of age typically need more specialized care through our pediatric clinics and providers. These types of clinics are better suited for a child’s needs.
The following is a list of services offered in Well Vision clinics:
My Associated Eye Care provider has told me that I am an ideal candidate for a Well Vision clinic, but I am 65.
Well Vision clinics are for new/existing patients who can benefit from the shorter exams. If a patients needs are more complex, they can always return to their primary eye care provider for care.
What happens if I have an exam in an Well Vision clinic and my needs are more complex?
There are cases where patients need more time or additional testing due to their visual needs. On rare occasions, we ask patients to return during regular clinic hours. A good example of this is dry eye as it is a common issue. Patients with mild dry eye issues can be seen in a Well Vision clinic. In some cases however, the patient presents with severe dry eye that needs additional attention. In these cases, we recommend the patient return to our specialized Dry Eye Clinic, where we can better diagnose and treat the more complex issue.
My eye care insurance covers me for yearly routine eye exams. Can I schedule this exam in a Well Vision clinic?
Yes. Associated Eye Care takes the majority of eye care insurances and is designed to accommodate those who need this type of exam.
I had LASIK surgery with Associated Eye Care and have the lifetime enhancement benefit. Will his type of clinic work for me?
Absolutely. This is a perfect clinic for you. Well Vision was designed with the lifestyles and vision needs of our LASIK patients in mind.
