Since 1972, Associated Eye Care has been serving patients across the Twin Cities by providing the utmost in vision care, from routine preventative exams to the most intricate of surgical procedures. All the while, our goal has been to approach each and every patient with a warm and caring manner, giving our patients the best experience possible in our clinics and surgery center. We believe that it is truly a privilege to serve our patients, and are grateful for the opportunity to care for those who entrust us to provide the best possible vision and improve their lives.
For Associated Eye Care, "Vision for a Lifetime" is more than just a tagline. It is our commitment to you that we will provide the very best care for your vision now and in the future. Regardless of where you or your family members are on the spectrum of life, newborns to life veterans, we have specialists on staff dedicated to your area of need. Vision is our most precious gift, we promise to care for yours as if it was our own.
Some of our patients requested more predictable appointments outside of the normal business hours for their routine annual exams. In order to meet these needs, we introduced vision wellness clinics in 2014, designed to provide the same high quality comprehensive eye care to those with busy lifestyles. In addition, many of our patients asked for more convenient access to our products. Our new online store called AEC Online Marketplace will open in January 2016 and will be accessible 24/7.
We cannot expect our employees to treat you the way you expect, unless we listen to and respect our employees first. High levels of service come from sharing common ideals. Our employees are our biggest asset and are dedicated and empowered to serve our patients in the best way possible.
We are exceptional in managing your vision, but it doesn't stop there. If you have a concern, we will own it the first time of asking. We invest time cross-training our employees so they can answer questions and address concerns across all areas of the organization. However, there are times when a specialized team member may need to step in and assist. First contact resolution ensures that whoever you approach with your concern, it is owned until it is resolved.
Our providers take the time to fully understand each patient's eye care needs. Appointments run longer than industry standards as we look to promote good consultations. LASIK evaluations typically take up to 2 hours as our surgeons meet with every patient personally to discuss candidacy. For patients who require less time, Vision Wellness clinics offer routine eye exam in less than 60 minutes.
Associated Eye Care has 16 eye care providers who specialize in all areas of eye care. (Please visit our provider page for individual biographies.) For 43 years, our providers have primarily cared for residents in the St. Croix Valley and specialize in all major fields including cornea, retina, glaucoma, refractive, comprehensive and pediatric ophthalmology/optometry as well as surgery. Our providers are all board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology or National Board of Examiners.
The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO®) is our clinical and technical accrediting body and every single technician on staff at any of our 6 locations has earned accreditation at the COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant), COT (Certified Ophthalmic Technician) or COMT (Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist) level. Associated Eye Care also employs licensed Orthoptists, who specialize in the evaluation and treatment of eye muscle problems under the guidance of our 4 pediatric providers.
With so many advanced technologies continually emerging in the field of ophthalmology, it is important that we have the technical expertise in place. In order to achieve continual improvement in this area, Associated Eye Care introduced an internal educational program called AEC University in 2006 with the focus of improving skills across the organization. This program moved to full-time status in the summer of 2015 with one of its primary functions being to further advance the skills of employees who occupy technical positions.
The surgeons have access to their adjoining state-of-the-art surgical facility in Stillwater, staffed by highly skilled and trained teams of ophthalmic nurses and technicians. Our facility has been awarded the highest levels of accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). In addition to a 5 star rating obtained from patient care surveys, our ASC maintains a consistent 5 star rating in safety and efficacy standards across the industry.
At Associated Eye Care, we know that you’re more than just a pair of eyes. You’re a person with ideas...goals...plans. Our focus is always on YOU...YOUR safety...YOUR comfort...YOUR convenience...YOUR LIFE. Some eye surgeons will you tell you how many procedures they have performed.
