Dr. Carlson joined Associated Eye Care in 1978. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of
Minnesota. Since completing his residency, he has been in his current practice setting, where he focuses on comprehensive ophthalmology and pursues a special interest in cataract surgery and medical diseases of the eye. Over the years, Dr. Carlson has been involved in a number of Third World health care projects involving eye care in Central America and West Africa. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology.

In his free time, Dr. Carlson enjoys fly-fishing and spending time at his cabin in Wisconsin. He and his wife have three daughters.
